CABLE SLINGS
Wire rope slings provide a link between the lifting equipment and the load to be lifted. Wire rope slings are either looped at both ends or can be endless. Rope slings can be sleeved, spliced, braided with single or multiple strands depending on the weight of your load.
Our rope slings are manufactured by us in our lifting and handling workshops in France according to the diameter, number of strands and length of your choice. For the sleeving of the lifting cable slings, we use a press with a high pressure which ensures the robustness of the sling. To protect the rope and increase the strength of the sling, you can choose to add a small or large opening heart lug.
How to choose a cable sling?
To choose the right rope sling for your lifting operation, you must :
Know the type of rope sling you want: 1 strand, 2 strands, 3 or 4 strands depending on the attachment points.
Know the maximum working load linked to the diameter of the sling cable. Please note that the load factor must also be known as it can have a significant influence on the sling's working load capacity.
To accompany your lifting sling, lifting accessories can be added. For this, you need to know your lifting requirements in order to choose the type of hook for example.
Finally, choose the total useful length of the sling, which is usually 1 metre by default.
For each sling, you can choose accessories cable sling you wish to combine: heart lugs, hooks or head links.
Wire rope slings can be made of steel or stainless steel wire rope. When the rope sling is made of steel, the rope is made from a steel wire drawn to have several diameters. The wires are joined together to form a strand. When several strands are joined together, this forms the rope. Depending on the load and capacity required, the sling will consist of a rope with more or less strands.
